Swindon200 is a campaign to support Swindon to be an equal and inclusive society.  It’s about the difference that people can make when they come together and work together to improve our town for the better for the future.

As part of this project, the Swindon Equality & Inclusion Charter was developed and launched by representatives of over 60 local community and voluntary sector groups and organisations at the Swindon Community Conference on Saturday 21st January 2017.  It outlines the beliefs and commitments that we wish to make, and that we hope that others will make along with us, in order to support Swindon to become a model of fairness, inclusion, opportunity and fulfilment.  It is primarily aimed at individual members of the Swindon community, though we welcome and encourage businesses and community organisations to sign up to it too.

Through this project we aim to celebrate the leadership that many people already take in our community and to also encourage more of us to take an active role in supporting Swindon to be a place of fairness and opportunity for all.

Working in partnership with other local community groups and organisations, local employers and individuals we aim to build a network of 200 ‘Equality Ambassadors’, as well as a number of project supporters, who will help to take this project forward.  Please click here for more information on the Equality Ambassadors.

Swindon200 is a partnership project between Voluntary Action Swindon, the Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) for the local area, and Swindon Equality Coalition, a coalition of individuals and organisations with a mission to achieve an equal society in Swindon by the removal of all forms of discrimination.
